Books I Can't Wait For

I was looking on Christianbook.com today, I do this a couple times a month to see what's new in the world of fiction, and I saw five books that I am really stoked to read. There was way more than five but I figured five was a nice number :)
The first book (like duh) was Ted Dekker's 'The Priest's Graveyard'. I love Dekker's novels and always look forward to his new ones.
The second book is Bodie and Brock Thoene's 'Against the Wind' I have read (I think) all their other novels and I also read the first book in this series. They have a real gift for story telling and I don't think they will disappoint on this one either.
The third book is Beth Pattillo's 'The Dashwood Sisters Tell All'. The other novels in this series were SO adorable and wonderfully written. Can't wait for this one.
The fourth book is Kristen Hietzman's 'Indelible'. Kristen Hietzman is one of my favourite author's and I always look forward to her novels. And last, but certainly not least, is Maureen Lang's 'Springtime of the Spirit'. I read the first book in the series and really enjoyed it, so of course, I am looking forward to book two.
And those are some of the novels I am really looking forward to reading.

Writing, My Family, and Black

First, I am happy to say that my novel is coming along incredibly well. I am having tons of fun. The last novel I wrote was fun to write as well, but was so different from this one. There was so much history and research involved that it took away from the joy of writing. It felt like I spent more time typing in my search engine then on my word document. With this new novel, I am finally getting into the joy and fun of writing. I'm loving every moment of it (and when I do get to do research it's pretty fun and interesting).
Second, I realized the other day how blessed I am to have such a wonderful family. Every member of my family is special and wonderful in their own way and each one has different attributes that I love. Every night we all gather together and have a good time. We watch TV ('Starsky and Hutch' being the current show that has graced our TV) and laugh and get to spend some quality time together. I look forward to that time every day. I think I might have one of the coolest families ever. I love them all like crazy and can't wait to see what the future hold for us. Whatever it is I hope we are doing it together.
haha...we watch the weirdest TV

My older sister and I bought my younger sister 'Black' and 'Red' by Ted Dekker and I have just started to re-read 'Black'. It is such a good book. The writing style is so different then most author's I find. I don't know how to describe it. Three author's could type out the same story and I would immediately know which one is Dekker's...He has such a distinct writers voice. Because the book I am writing is a thriller, I find that reading Dekker's books gives me a lot of food for thought for how I am writing my own novel. I know that every author has their own author's voice, I just hope that some of Dekker's style rubs off on me. As I read 'Black' I find I'm studying it more than reading it for pleasure (I already got to do that once).
As a finish up my completely random post, I wish you all a wonderful evening (Go and spend it with your family and loved ones). :)

RED

So stoked!!! In one week (6 days, 9 hours, 37 min, and 30 sec, exactly) the new RED album is releasing. As you can see from my previous posts, this is a very exciting moment for me. I have followed this band sense they pretty much started and have loved every CD that they put out. I have seen them play live four times now and I sport a RED tshirt more than you could possibly know.
The lyrics in their songs are incredible and I am always so encouraged in my Christian walk by what they have to say. As I listen to one of my favourite RED songs I thought I would share the lyrics of it with you.

Waste away, I'm crawling blind
hollowed by what I left inside
for you, just you, I'm caught in place
but I ignore what I can't erase

I will run and hide till memories fade away
and I will leave behind a love so strong

Close my eyes, these voices say
haunting me, I can't escape
for you, just you, time will always wait
while I throw away what I can't replace

I will run and hide till memories fade away
and I will leave behind a love so strong
and I will leave behind a love so strong

Final Fave Post

Today I will share my five favourite TV shows of all time. This is the easiest of all the posts so far. Music, book, and movies are really difficult because I have so many that I love. I only have these five TV shows that I really love. again, they are in no particular order.

1)Psych

2)A-Team

3)Remington Steele4)Monk
5)Hogan's Heroes

These posts were SO much fun. I'm almost upset to see them come to a close. I'll have to do this again some other time.

Fave Post #3

Now for my favourite bands...this is going to be SO difficult. Here goes...

1) Thousand Foot Krutch (I could live off this band's music. They are my all time fave and I totally admire Trevor McNevan, lead singer)
2) RED (They are EPIC live)
3) Sent By Ravens (New band that I have really grown to love)
4) Hawk Nelson ( I get to see them play this year and I'm so stoked (even though I've seen them play like six times))5)Anberlin (Really want to see them play. Pix from their concert look so sick)

Fave Post #2

Hello everyone. Today is Fave Post #2. Today I will share with you my five favourite movies of all time. Again, they are in no special order.
1) Fantastic Mr. Fox

2) Bolt

3) Nacho Libre
4) You've Got Mail
5)Three (From the book by Ted Dekker)
I know, I watch really weird movies. I will watch anything and pretty much enjoy anything. Reminds me of how I read. I read everything and anything ;)

Favourite Post #1

I have decided to do a series of posts in four consecutive posts, first one being today.
Today I will share my five favourite authors. I was going to do my five favourite books but I could never choose only five. Authors are much easier. These are not in order by favourite. There is no author that I enjoy above the other even though they are numbered.
1) Deeanne Gist.
2) Ted Dekker

3) Eric Wilson

4)Julie Klassen
5) Denise Hunter
This was actually WAY harder than I was expecting. There are so many authors that I love to read. They are all so incredible at writing. As a write though, I would have to say that Ted Dekker and Eric Wilson inspire me the most.

Random thoughts from me

I have so many random thoughts running through my head that I felt it would be fun to share them all with you. There are ten random thoughts in total.

1) I finished my goal of 30,000 words today and was so proud of myself. Yeah Hannah!
2) I have been listening to 'Trailer Vs. Tornado' by Sent By Ravens and think it may be like one of the coolest songs ever. Love the lyrics.
3)I have started writing in my diary again and I am loving every minute of it.
4)It is so hot in Key West, Florida that I think I might trade with one of these people who have a couple feet of snow. (JK...I'm actually sort of enjoying this)
5)My Mom is making lasagna for dinner and I am so hungry that I think I might die if I don't get some soon. Again...Just Kidding (about the dieing, not about the lasagna )
6)I have been thinking about how different some people's lived are compared to mine.
7)I have been thinking about how much I miss home but at the same time I am enjoying myself here.
8)Thinking how cool it would be to live in a house and not a boat or RV! (I have such a weird life)
9)I have also spent the day thinking how amazing ice-cream would be...something with an insane amount of chocolate.
10) and finally I thought about my Big Bro and how much I miss him. Too bad he is home all alone...I won't get to see him for like four more months...*sniff* *sniff* He needs to get a job that gives him six months on and six months off like mine does. Stupid brother :)
I hope you enjoyed these thoughts of randomness...I sure did.

Writing Memiors

*sigh* Finally I feel as if I have reached that point in my latest book where I am loving every moment of it. I must confess. Those first 20-25 pages are dreadful for me. I just want to get into the heart of the novel you know. I want to be able to worm in my conflict and watch as my characters grow from the experiences that I throw into their paths. This book, for some reason, has really been a blast to write. The other novels I wrote were so based on history and there was so much research involved that I felt like I wasn't doing more research than writing. This novel though (I have yet to choose a title) has been purely imagination. Well, OK, I had to do some research but there has been more imagination then research. The plot is more of a Thriller this time and the character are to die for. They are so relatable (more so then the other two novels I wrote).
I have a great feeling about this novel. I think this one is more from my heart then the others. Maybe one day soon I will see it in my nearest bookstore ;) I girl can dream can't she?
Last night I spent the whole night thinking about the next page, the next chapter...it's all I can think about. Even now I have plot twists and dialogue floating around in my brain. If I don't stop blogging soon, and start on my novel, I might go insane. So on that note, I bid you a good day.

weird, weird, weird

Success! Finally I have passed the 23,000 mark on my new novel (only like 79,000 left to go). I have been trying to finish this last year of school and also help with things on the boat (though I don't do that as much as I should). I would love to sit and write for six hours straight but with a family of seven it's hard to concentrate for that long. Not that I can complain...I have a pretty great family.
I took my music player off my blog if you didn't notice. It scared the daylights out of me every time I came on my blog. If you didn't notice, I am a big fan of Heavy Metal Rock music...I love the screaming vocals and the totally grunge guitars...I know it's SO weird. How can a girl be so girly, reading romance novels and loving flowers of every kind, listen to music like that. I must say, I'm a very confused girl. I love pretty things. I love romance. I love Jewelry and most of all, I love to write :) BUT! I also love cars (1979 Pontiac Trans Am to be exact), heavy rock music(and the band t-shirts and posters that go along with that rock music).
It's not just the music that I love, it's the lyrics. I love Thousand Foot Krutch and RED's lyrics the most...SO beautiful. I was so excited to learn that RED was coming out with a new CD this year in Feb. It's called "Until We Have Faces." You can listen to a sample of it at Christianbook.com. I only have like 18 days, 10 hours, and fifteen minutes left to wait.

Random Rambling

So last night my family and I went to the grocery store (excitement!) and as were were touring the aisle I had the sudden desire for pie (well I desired to make a pie, not necessarily buy a pie). After much debate I decided I would try my hand at making a coconut cream pie. Mom and Bethany finished putting the groceries away and then I took to the kitchen. I haven't done much (other than dishes) in the kitchen for awhile so I had a blast making the pie. After an hour in the fridge, I gave it to my four taste testers who gave it two thumbs up.
After watching an episode of physic (and feasting on pie) with my family I spent half an hour reading "The Girl in the Gatehouse" by Julie Klassen. I love Julie Klassen's novels and this one is proving to be one of her best. I love the whole Jane Austen period novels (Including Jane Austen's work) and this one is definitely one of my favourites. If you love Jane Austen you should read Julie Klassen's novels and also Beth Pattillo. Both ladies are fantastic.
I was so excited when we got to shore again and I got to go to a book store :) I purchased seven novels (pictures above and below) and as of yet I have only had the pleasure of reading one of them...I'm trying to take it slow when it comes to reading ;) I read too fast and before I know it I have nothing left to read. I have been trying to write more as well, so I don't have as much free time on my hands anymore (especially if I spend all my time on Facebook and Blogspot). I'm finding that my favourite times for reading are at night and in the morning before anyone else is awake...I love the quiet.
I'm sure you have tired of my random rambling by now so I will leave you all to your own thoughts.
Have a wonderful day :)

Oh WOW

Wow! I haven't blogged in so long that, believe it or not, I didn't even remember what my password was. Yikes.
I am back now. Life has been so busy that I just haven't had time to blog. School, work, Emmanuel (the boat), and trying to finish this manuscript. I am no longer working on the book that I had been working on for the longest time. I have started a new book, like three months ago, and have only just today passed the 20,000 word mark...It's killing me. I don't know why I can't seem to get my act together. It could be the fact that I'm in the Caribbean and the sun is shining and the boat is rocking me to sleep :) Hopefully it will be well on it's way to being finished by the time I get home in April....there's always hope right?
This year has started off wonderfully. My Big Brother came for Christmas and New Year. It was so nice to have him back with us for the holidays. He is too busy for his own good, the break was good for him.
Even though I haven't been blogging for a long time it doesn't really seem like I have any really exciting news....same old, same old I guess.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years.
Hopefully you will hear from me again soon. I have really missed blogging. :)
