Pride and Prejudice and a Romiller

I have been finishing up this last year of school (I'm home schooled for all you people who don't know) and only do a couple subjects a day. Math (not my fave), a Bible study (really enjoy it), and my favourite...a book study of my choice.

This year I chose Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. *sigh*. What a fantastic piece of literature!! I read this book when I was quite little and I realized this week that I was too young to truly appreciate this novel. I have been loving this study and find it's my favourite subject in school.

It's actually quite strange. My favourite genre of books to read is romance. I completely adore a good love story. Guy gets the girl and they live happily ever after. All that jazz. It tugs on my heartstrings and makes me smile, laugh, cry. It's wonderful. The weird thing though, is the fact that I don't enjoy writing romance. Nope. I prefer to write a good thriller. Which isn't all that weird considering I absolutely LOVE Ted Dekker, and Eric Wilson novels. When the story makes your heart race, your palms sweat and your eyes twitch ;) It's SO amazing. I love the thrill that accompanies a good book.

I had someone ask me the other day what genre my story is. What category I would place it under. It took me a minute to think before I could answer. I finally decided that my book was a Romiller...Romantic Thriller. I guess I couldn't make up my mind on which I wanted to write more.
P.S. I cleared 60,000 words the other day :) I'm quite pleased with how the novel is progressing so far. I can't wait to see what will happen with my characters :)

We Can Change the World

I always find songs about missions work, or changing the world, or making a difference so impacting. I think it's because my whole life has been devoted to doing just that. As a missions kid, songs like this always tug at my heart strings and give me that extra passion for what I do. I listen to the song and realize that I am doing my part to make the world a better place. It may be small but it is a difference. Even if just one person is impacted that's still one extra life.
There is always something that you can do to change the world. It might not be as huge as stopping world hunger but even if it's just giving five minutes of your time to comfort someone in need or a donating a dollar to your local charity. All of it makes a difference.
What made me want to post about this was I bought the new Hawk Nelson CD a few days ago and there was a song on the CD called "We Can Make a Difference". I really like the song and wanted to share the lyrics with you.

" We Can Make a Difference"
I've seen an orphans heart filled with the Father's love
I've heard the hungry and thirsty say I've had enough
Ya, I've seen hopelessness swallowed up in hope
When all God's people say okay let's go
We can change the world, you and me
We can make a difference if we just believe
When the hands and feet start moving together
We can change the world forever
I've seen the broken one get healed of his disease
Witnessed the beauty of forgiveness save my family
So many cities need revival of the soul
And all God's people say come on here we go, come on here we go
We can change the world, you and me
We can make a difference if we just believe
When the hands and feet start moving together
We can change the world forever
We know what we've gotta do
It's time for us to show the truth
It's up to me, it's up to you
We can change the world, we can change the world
We can change the world, you and me
We can make a difference if we just believe
When the hands and feet start moving together
We can change the world forever
"We Can Change the World"
from the album "Crazy Love" by Hawk Nelson
Aren't those wonderful lyrics? I loved this song the minute I heard it. You should definitely go and listen to it...it's wonderful :)

Home Again

After a week of hard sailing we are finally back in Key West Florida. We spent three wonderful days in the Bahamas. We delivered a full sailboat of supplies and had a chance to spend hours on the beach. We collected buckets of shells. There was the most incredible shells I have ever seen. It was SO hard not to take the whole beach home with me :)
Unfortunately I didn't take a single picture. I know. What's wrong with me? I spend four days in the Bahamas and don't even take my camera out of it's case....Crazy!!
On the sail home (Day after Valentines Day) we saw over two dozen heart shaped balloons floating in the water. We would be sailing along (an incredible feeling, I love it)and all of a sudden a deflated, shiny heart shaped balloon would float by. Two dozen of them!! If you ever wondered what happened to balloons after people buy them, the answer is that they end up in the ocean and wash up on the beach somewhere.
All in all it was a great trip and to finish it all off, I got to have a wonderful breakfast this morning and got to buy the new Hawk Nelson CD. "Crazy Love". :)
PS: I thought I would post a pic of our sailboat so that you could all see what she looks like. Her name is Emmanuel...isn't that great? God with us. She's 47 feet and has a six foot draft. We were given this boat from a man in Greece (who we never even knew until he called us to ask if we wanted Emmanuel) who said we could have Emmanuel if we used her for ministry. We, of course, said yes :) I just thought I would share this little story with you all...I wasn't sure if I had mentioned it before. You can check out our family's story in a little more depth at... www.millersemmanuel.blogspot.com

Adios!!

Tomorrow morning (early) we set sail for the Bahamas for four or five days. We are bringing a load of stuff (books, clothes, and Hymnals) to the poorer islands down there (Or is it over there?).
Hopefully we will have a safe trip and a happy sail. It feels so wierd that its only a hop, skip, and a jump away except if you're sailing. In that case, it takes us ages to get there. That's four days there, four days in the Bahamas, and four days back...total of twelve days (incase you couldn't do the math) devoted to the Bahamas. I know, I have a very difficult life :) NOT. I love it
I'll try and blog about the trip as soon as I get back...Blessings to you in the next twelve days :)

Until W3 Hav3 Fac3s!!!

I HAVE THE NEW RED CD!!!!

'Until we have faces' arrived on store shelves today and so of course I went and bought it, like duh!!! I have a cool story to go along with my epic 'new CD news':
I have a RED shirt that I wear all the time and I was wearing it today when I went to FYE to purchase the RED CD. I sat the CD on the counter and the guy rang it in and then just stood there. I took twenty bucks out of my wallet but when I tried to give it to him he said that I looked like such a great fan that I should get the CD for free. I couldn't believe it. I tried to give him money and he said that he was serious and told me to enjoy the new CD. It was crazy!!! The guy totally made my day :)

'Until we have faces' is even better than I was expecting. Everything about it is perfect.
