Merry Christmas

Wow-ee! It has been a long time since I blogged. We are at the boat now and don't have Internet there so we have been going to Starbucks and different bookstores (I think I buy a book and a Chai every time we go). It seems like whenever we leave the house my writing mood changes. I am literally forcing myself to blog today. I never feel like it when we get here. Whatever.
Christmas was great this year. My big brother wasn't here and that kind of put a dampener on our Christmas but other then that it was a really great time. I finally got my camera on the 24 (thanks to Mr. UPS ). I love it. They gave me one that was two models up from mine. It takes WAY nicer pix then my old one did. My parents bought me a new book I had been wanting and the new Relient K CD. I loved it. Our first Christmas on the boat was really fantastic.
I hope you all had a great Christmas day too.

Random thoughts

It has been really long since I blogged. We don't have Internet at the boat so I haven't been able to check email as much as I would like to. Due to this, I have a lot on my mind. So this blog may seem random but I am just trying to catch up.
For starters...IT SNOWED HERE IN LOUISIANA last night. I know...I thought it was crazy. Kind of nice though. It didn't stay on the ground for long but alas...we did get snow.
- my camera broke a long while back and we sent it to the warranty center...and they haven't gotten a hold of us yet...it's a little weird not having my camera and I am a little worried about what is going on there with that. :(
I thought I would have more to say then that but I really can't think of it right now.
Happy December
PS: I realized that a while back I stopped putting music lists at the end of my blog...Don't know what was with that.

Update and an award :)

So we have officially moved onto the boat. I love having my own room and the gentle rocking of the boat is great for putting you asleep. Unfortunately we don't have email here so I am sitting here in Starbucks with the smell of coffee wafting by on the breeze. It's pretty relaxing.I just received this award from Riah at Purity and Petticoats. Thank you so much Riah...unfortunately (again) I don't have seven blogs to send it too. :'( I am going to do the seven things about me part though :)
1. I love rawk music (yes, I spell it wrong...that is how TFK spells it though...so it's cool)
2. Reading is my passion
3. I hate it when I can't find things in the house
4. I would love to spend a week in a hammock on a beach
5. I love my job and really miss it
6. Most of my friends are older than me
7. My family is my best friend
There you have it guys

Thanksgiving

So Thanksgiving is coming up...here in the States. In Canada we have Thanksgiving on the second weekend of October. I love Thanksgiving. The smell of food, thinking over all the things that God has done for us this year and spending time with family. Unfortunately this year our whole family is not going to be here. We usually just have us five kids and our parents. This year though, my big brother will not be here with us. I am very upset and wish he could be here with us...it's just not the same without him. Sigh...I keep wishing that he will surprise us and fly down...I don't think it's going to happen though :(
I wish you all and your families the best of times this Thanksgiving and remember...we all have tons to be thankful for :)
God Bless

These are my two dogs, Bud and Ellwood. We named them after our Grandfathers. This is them last summer. So cute eh?
Bud is the puppy on the left and Ellwood is on the right
This is my Budderball. I miss him like crazy :'(

I was looking through a bunch of my old photos the other day and found a few that I really like. Hope you enjoy.
I took this one the same day my camera broke. It's kind of bitter sweet
The second RED concert I went to this year. I was so excited at being this close to the stage and it was amazing to meat the band after. I think I blogged about this a few months back.
Again a pic I took the day my camera broke...and again it's bitter sweat.

This concert was amazing (Hawk Nelson). I wish we had been closer to the stage though :(

I love this picture. I took it a few days before we left for Louisiana

Beautiful Day

For the first time we are spending our winter in Louisiana. We usually go to Daytona Beach, Florida. I can't believe how beautiful it is here. Fall has started to show it's beauty and everyday I have been aw struck. God's creation has taken my breath away yet again. We are surrounded by wildlife and trees starting to turn the brilliant color of fall. I love this season. We are right on a lake so the colors of fall mixed with the cool lake is a stunning site.
There is a swing set by us. It is surrounded by trees and is such a beautiful place to think and daydream. Magical.
I wanted to take pictures for you all but my camera broke a few days ago and I haven't gotten it back from warranty yet. As soon as I get it I will try to take and post pictures for you.
Blessings

School Paper

I have been doing a writing program to help me utilize my writing skills this year. It shows you how to use different styles of writing. Both to use with fiction and in school papers. I really enjoyed this lesson and thought I would share it with you. I had to write a paper about my life as a reader. I had to use different techniques that they had taught me and different word forms. I hope you like it :)

My Life As A Reader
When I was thirteen my older sister, Lori-Ann, gave me a novel to read while I relaxed outside in the summer sun. I read the book in record time and on that day began my life as an avid reader. I read anything from thrillers to romance. Swiftly, I read novel after novel; filling my head with stories of adventure and romance. Sadly, reading as much as I do is an expensive habit.
As we travel, I read and daydream about the characters and their lives. I love dipping my toes in different styles of writing and adore exploring new author's work. Every book I read is an adventure that I never want to end. Unfortunately, all books come to and end and sadly they are not always happy. Fabulous and fun, this adds to the excitement.
Because of my love for books, I someday want to write a novel of my own. Starting my career as an author has been an exciting and joy filled experience. I hope that someday soon I can be published and see my name printed on the cover of a novel. I also want to encourage people with my writing as others have encouraged me with theirs. I am so thankful to God for giving us the gift of story-telling.
The End
I hope you enjoyed this little piece of my homework :) I am pretty happy with how it turned out.
Also on a side note I would like to wish my parents a Happy Anniversary. I love you both very much. :)

Excited

So today we headed to the boat to work on Emmanuel again. I can't believe how amazing She is starting to look. We have finished my room, the bathrooms, my parents room and my big sisters room. My camera broke so I am waiting for my new one but the minute I get it I will take some pix and post them on here. Soon I promise. :)
We have done some amazing work on her and I can't wait to be able to move on. Not only that but I have a really big room that is just for me and my little sister. It sure beats the RV.
I have added some of the pictures of when we first got to Louisiana.

Blog title

I realized the other day that I never explained why my blog is named the "Banana Blog". Some of you may have figured it out. My name is Hannah and most of the people I know either have a remark about Hannah Montana....yuck, or say something about the Banana. My Daddy calls my Hanny because it sounds like Daddy. But most of my friends call me Hannah Banana. Hence the name Banana Blog. Just thought I would satisfy your curiosity. :)

Random thoughts :)

Most of you know that my life revolves around books and music. I love both and can't imagine what life would be like without them.
I could read pretty much anything and hope someday I have a house where I can have bookcases overflowing with novels. I read pretty much anything but my favourite authors are Deeanne Gist, Denise Hunter, Ted Dekker and Eric Wilson. I would love to someday write my own novel but "sigh" that will have to wait a little longer. Unfortunately I am a slow writer.
My favourite bands are Thousand Foot Krutch, RED, Emery, Hawk Nelson, Owl City and Jonathan Steingard. The first three are pretty heavy but the lyrics are incredible and always seem to fit whatever ever mood I am in. Hawk Nelson is really fun and a great band full of energy. This is one of the best bands to see live, they are amazing. Last but most definitely not least are Owl City and Jonathan Steingard. Both of these artists and brilliantly talented and there lyrics are very sweet.
If you have the time you should totally check these authors and bands out. They have all made a very large impact on my life and hope they do for you as well....and just to let you know Deeanne is my fave fave author and Thousand Foot Krutch is my fave fave band. TFK has really been a large part of my life and am so thankful for all the work they do to bring this music to me. Thank you to them :)

Hello Hello Hello and Hello again :)

This time I actually have a reason (other than laziness) for not blogging. The power cord for my laptop stopped working so I have not had a computer. Fear not, I now have a new cord and will be back to my blogging self :)
Things here have been really well. We finished our promotional material and prayer cards the other day. They look amazing.
The boat is starting to look amazing and I can't wait to move aboard :) It is exciting to see how things are moving along. I wish I had something more interesting to share with you all but sadly I do not.
Blessings to you all.

Boat update

Hi there

So, things with the boat are going really well. We have carpeted, painted, and cleaned most of the boat. Emmanuel is starting to look really great; more like a hope. I am really excited to finally move aboard and make my room my own.

About a week ago Lori-Ann and Dad were at the boat and found this cute little turtle. They brought him home and have added him to our family. We decided to name him Jimmy. He is super cute. He has little yellow swirls and is just a sweet little guy.

That is pretty much all that's going on here. The weather has cooled down a bit and the terrible love bugs have left us in peace....thank goodness.

HELLO!!!!

The boat is looking amazing!!! I can't believe how well she has turned out. We are all really excited to move on and start to give it the "Miller" touch. Not only is the boat looking fantastic but the humidity is starting to get a little more bearable. We still have really humid days but it is not quite as bad as it was. Thank goodness.
If you didn't notice a couple blogs before I mentioned our trip to see Hawk Nelson in Orlando. I forgot to put pix (sorry) on that blog so added a few on this one. Enjoy ;)
I also forgot to add the music list to the one before this one. Again I am sorry and no you do not get extras on this one. :P

So we are back in Louisiana. We are at a state park this time and this place is just crawling with wild life. Just driving to our campsite we saw 17 deer, 1 wild boar and 6 raccoons. It was insane. Our trip went really well and we are all really excited to get to work on the boat. Woot Woot.LOL.

Update

Hey Everybody...

OK, so it has been forever since I have written on here. I honestly have no excuse other than I have just been to lazy. My apologies.
We are down in Florida right now. The weather has been amazing and I am proud to say I have a beautiful tan. Love that sunshine. We haven't spent much time down on the beach. I think we have gone a total of...once. That one day was really nice though minus that we saw a shark like fifteen feet away from us. It was kind of freaky.
Our first week here we drove over to Orlando and went to see Hawk Nelson and Toby Mac at Universal Studios. That was by far some of the most fun I have ever had. Both bands were incredible though if I had to choose HN takes the cake. They are always really fun live.
Once again, sorry for not blogging in so long. I will try to get on the ball.

Been awhile ;}

Hey Guys:
WOW! It has been an insane couple of months. We have been really busy fixing the boat up here in Louisiana. The thing is so full of stuff it's amazing she can even float. She is looking really beautiful now after we have begun to clean her out. I can't wait to move aboard. It is going to be fun to make it our own.
We had her out on the water only once. We used the motor for the majority of the trip but then we put out the Genoa (the small sail at the Bow or front of the boat.) and got to sail around for an hour or two. It was really fun. I can't wait to do some big sailing trips.
It is so beautiful here. The only thing I could do without are thees little bugs called Love bugs. They are the most annoying bugs in the world. There is also a gator here in were the boat is docked. It is crazy seeing this gator swimming around your boat.
I hope things are going well with you all

Oreos

You all know it was bound to happen. I had to blog about my favourite cookie. you can't beat an Oreo. the cookie part of the Oreo is chocolate, that in its self makes it a winner. Then just to make it all the better they put that white delicious smooth cream in the middle of the two cookies. You get to eat two cookies at once! There is just nothing bad about an Oreo. Except, I guess, the fact that they aren't the best thing in the world for you health wise. They sure do taste amazing though. So I encourage you, the next time your out grocery shopping pick up a bag of Oreo cookies. The ones with extra cream are my Fave ;}

Believe Fest was incREDible!!!!!!

So this year was my first time to Believe Fest ( we are going to call it BF). It was by far some of the most fun I have ever had. We got to see RED, Manafest, Article One and Jay and the Love Birds. There was only like a hundred to two hundered people so it was really easy to meet the memebers of the bands and stuff. It is a really great venue. It rained like all day and the mud was just descusting.

I must say though the highlihgt of my whole day was meeting Randy the bassist for RED. I have always wanted to play bass so he is kind of my hero. RED is a really cool group of guys. Their concert was just amazing too. It stopped raining by the time they started to play so we didn't have to take pictures in the rain.

That is a small recap of BF for you. If your into good christian music this is deffinitly a venue you have to check out.

Hey

Hey Everybody
Wow!! July was a crazy month. So much happened. I had my Birthday and got a sweet camera from my amazing parents and tons of love from my family. It was a really great day. We are moving on a boat. It is finally official. I am excited but at the same time totally nervous. I can't wait for this big change to see what God has planned for my family and I. I am also going to really miss my friends and things like that. I do get to come back though. It's not like are moving down there forever. It's just a big change happening at what feels like a really quick pace. I must say though, I am mostly excited. It is going to be sooo much fun...I hope. We could really use your prayers though. Nothing shows your support more then avid prayer.
Summer is already leaving us and we are pushing into fall. Crazy eh? It totally feels like we got two weeks of summer. It's Actually really sad.
That's all I really have for you guys today. Like I said keep up your prayers we love them.

Ahhh Summer

Sorry guys for not blogging very much lately I have just not been in a writing mood. Obviously I am now.
We finally have summer weather here in Alberta. It has been cold and raining here for the past couple of months but the sun has finally decided to poke it's bright and shinning face out through the grey clouds. Thanks Mr. Sun we all really appreciate it. :}
The fair has started here in Red Deer too. We live right next door which means we get to go over when ever we want. Sure we still have to pay to get in, but we don't have to drive or spend all day there. We can come and go all we please. It's pretty nice. I'm not really into the rides for me it's all about the food. Mini doughnuts, Carmel and candy apples, cotton candy and homemade potato chips add a farris wheel into the mix and behold you have an amazing fair .
Yesterday I worked Until six thirty so my lovely siblings went and got some of the delicious food I previously mentioned. We hung out outside eating carnival food, listening to tunes and then we watched the fireworks at like eleven thirty. It was a really fun night. Hope yours was too.

My super fun day away :}

Today we ( my sisters, mom and I) all drove to Calgary. My older sister had laser surgery on her eyes so she won't have to wear glasses anymore. It's actually really neat. They cut a layer off her eye and all this other gross stuff. It's so cool that only fifteen minutes in the operating room and she can see without her glasses.

Unfortunately she had to wait around for like three hours for who knows what. I do know that it was super boring. I thought it would be nice to wait in the waiting room for her. I had Bethy (little sis) with me the whole time but honestly there is only so much two people can do in a waiting room.

At first we watched a few Skillet podcasts. For you people who aren't Panheads...Skillet is a Christian rawk band. Pretty wicked one too. Anyway we did that for awhile but then Bethy's ipod ran out of power so we started taking some pix with her camera. That was fun for awhile until that too died. So we sat there for at least half an hour doing nothing but staring out the window at the busy city of Calgary. It is a gorgeous city really and today was a super nice day...we were just stuck inside for most of it.

We did have the privilege of meeting one of the craziest people ever though. She was so talkative...remind you of someone...me? But seriously she talked to everyone in the office. She would ask questions, start discussions and heck she even offered advice. She was actually very entertaining. She really helped the time go by fast.

So yeah we ended up at the laser office for about three and half hours. My sister now can see without her glasses which is super cool. I just can't believe that she can see after a fifteen minute operation. Crazy!!
